Today I want to share a thought that’s been on my mind lately.
Progress.
Not the Instagram kind.
Not the “look how far I’ve come” kind.
The real one.
For a long time, I believed that progress should feel good. That if I was moving forward in life, I would feel confident, motivated, proud.
But most of the time… it didn’t feel like that at all.
It felt slow.
Messy.
Sometimes even pointless.
There were days I did the work and still felt like nothing changed. Days I questioned if I was actually improving or just wasting my time.
And I think this is where most people give up.
Because we expect progress to reward us immediately.
We want proof. Results. Validation.
But real progress is quiet.
It happens when no one is watching.
When nothing exciting is happening.
When you keep showing up without feeling inspired.
I realized that most of the growth in my life didn’t happen when I felt “ready”.
It happened when I felt bored, tired, unsure — and still kept going.
And that’s uncomfortable to accept.
Because it means progress isn’t about how you feel.
It’s about what you do despite how you feel.
We often ask ourselves:
“Am I motivated enough?”
But the better question is:
“Am I consistent enough?”
You don’t need to feel confident to move forward.
You don’t need clarity to take the next step.
You just need to stop waiting for the perfect emotional state.
Progress doesn’t announce itself.
You only recognize it later, when you look back.
So if right now it feels slow…
If it feels like nothing is happening…
That might be a sign that something actually is.
