Hey there!!

Today I decided to share with you some thoughts about a quite controversial issue...

Happiness.

Is happiness a trap?

The truth is that many people have different perspective on happiness and that's why anyone can say that this subject has been a taboo to this day.

But the first thing someone has to do to understand the rules of the game "happiness" is to understand what they define as happiness in the first place.

For me, what brings me happiness is various things. It's the moments I spend with my friends laughing and having fun. The joy when I eat my favourite food. The peace when I look at the sunset and get stunned by the beautiful sky colours.

For others, happiness is achieving your goals, getting your dream car, traveling.

You notice any difference here?

If not, let me help you. I belong to the category of people who think that happiness is found in the present. This very moment. To be honest, I'm feeling happy right now writing this email.

On the other hand, some people believe subconsciously that happiness will be found in the future.

In my opinion, we are happy since the day we were born. No one can make an excuse for not being happy. For example, how can I not feel happy when I'm hanging out with my friends and laugh? Isn't that making me happy? If not, what does it make me? Sad? Angry? No. That's a huge blessing that God has given me and that's why I consider that I'm already happy.

However, that doesn't mean that I don't want to chase my goals, or get my dream car or make a bunch of money in general. That's certainly serious and important things anyone should focus on. But this is where I think many people miss the bigger picture.

They expect that only after they reach a certain point in life, they'll be happy. "When I get that job, I'll be happy", "when I kiss my crush, I'll be happy", "when I reach 1m followers, I'll be happy".

But what someone really feels when they hit their targets?

Pure excitement.

Not happiness.

Because remember...

Excitement ≠ Happiness.

So when excitement fades away, they think that happiness is what fades away. Thus, the next thing they do is try to get another thing in life so they can be happy.

As a result, they get stuck in a cycle that keeps going round and round and round till their last breath. Without ever feeling fulfilled.

Personally, I believe the big lesson here is that happiness isn't something we chase. It's something we have. And that what keeps me in peace. It's knowing that I don't need or lack happiness in my life.

All we need to do is just pause for a while, open our eyes and look around us. God has placed everything in this world for a reason.

So go out there, chase your dreams and be happy. Cause you already are.

Have a nice day,
